Forced
Operation
In the unfortunate situation of a lost or misplaced remote control, the LG unit
can be manually operated via the switch on the indoor unit. When the slider on
the indoor unit is activated, the unit operates at pre-set conditions on high
speed.
Air Distribution
To obtain an optimum air distribution throughout the room, the unit has been designed
to vary the fan speed periodically - giving an even distribution of natural airflow
similar to the fresh breeze of nature, without any cold spots. The Uet Function
allows high-speed room heating/cooling for up to 30 minutes until required temperature
is reached.
Self-Diagnostic Function
In the unlikely event of a malfunction, the unit responds by displaying a series
of LEDs, indicating the type of error code. This gives a clear indication
of any problems and this information can be forwarded to a service centre ensuring
that all faults outside of the users knowledge can be rectified quickly.
Wireless
Remote Control
The remote control operates a full set of functions - from time and temperature
running of the unit to measurement of room temperature.
Timer Delay Safety Function
By using the remote controller to operate at specific on/off times throughout
the day, the user has full control of planning room temperature settings.
Soft Dry Option
This mode utilises the dehumidification capability of the unit, creating a comfortable
atmosphere without overcooling the room.
Plasma Filter System
A unique Air Purifying system developed by LG that is able to reduce microscopic
contaminants and dust. It also has a deodorising effect - particularly useful
on tobacco smoke. The Plasma filter is washable and therefore easy to clean which
cuts out the costs of expensive filter replacements.
Warranty
LG supply a 3 year parts and maintenance warranty subject to satisfactory routine
maintenance.
Plasma Filters
The filtration of bacteria and viruses from indoor air is hindered by two characteristics
of the organisms being extremely small and the ability to propagate. The typical
size of the bacteria is in the order of a few micrometers, but viruses can be
1 of this size. It Is well known that the effective filtration of particles less
than one micrometer is difficult. It is also known that the organisms that are
captured by the filter can propagate on the filter surface, necessitating frequent
filter changes.
The use of electric fields and electric discharges has been known for years
to address both of these challenges. The improvement of filter capture efficiency
through the application of electrostatic fields Is well established. Polarization
effects brought about by an electric field produces an attractive force between
particles and filter fibres resulting in significantly enhanced filter efficiency,
especially for small particles. Allowing a porous, low- pressure drop filter to
be used for high efficiency service.
The plasma filter was primarily developed for hospital applications where high
efficiency filtration and filter sterilisation is both needed and where lower
pressure drop operation is desired Due to the Plasma filter being extremely effective
at removing air borne contaminates, including fine dust, pollen, mould spores,
dust mites, paint fumes, and tobacco smoke. There has been considerable interest
for office building, clubs, pubs, and school market sectors, due to avoidance
of sickness and the use of ow pressure drop filters.
The advantage of the LG designed plasma filter, fitted to the range
of Air Conditioning, is its simple cleanability. When the filter cartridge is
removed from the unit, the filter can be washed in clean water, dried and replaced.
As long as this sequence of maintenance is sustained, the filter will last many
years, and the performance will not decrease.
